Walt Disney is famous around the world for creating Mickey Mouse and building an entertainment empire that changed animation forever.
Childhood and education
He was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1901 and grew up on a farm in Missouri. From a young age, he loved drawing and storytelling. He attended McKinley High School in Chicago, where he studied art and photography, and later took night courses at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.
Achievements
He was a very successful film-maker who created beloved characters like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Apart from making films, he was also famous for founding Disneyland in California, the first-ever theme park of its kind. His animated films, such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, became classics and set new standards for the industry.
Family
He had three brothers and a sister. Walt married Lillian Bounds in 1925, and they had two daughters.
Death and the continued success of The Walt Disney Studios
He died in 1966 in California. Even after his death, The Walt Disney Studios continued to grow, and his vision still inspires millions around the world today.
