He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 5, 1901, and spent most of his childhood on a farm in Missouri.
He attended McKinley High School in Chicago and took evening classes at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.
Achievements
He was a very successful film-maker, who created Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and classic films like Cinderella, Bambi, and Sleeping Beauty.
Apart from making films, he was also famous for building Disneyland and Walt Disney World, which became models for modern theme parks.
Family
He had four brothers and one sister, and he and his wife Lillian Bounds had two daughters.

He died in Los Angeles, California, on December 15, 1966, but The Walt Disney Studios has continued to thrive, producing blockbuster films and opening new parks worldwide.
