The illustration represents data on the population trends in Viet Nam from 1960 to 2020. Overall, it can be seen that the rural percentage experienced a fall while the figure for the urban proportion experienced a rise throughout the period. It is clear that there was a slight decrease in the percentage of rural population from 85% in 1960 to 80% in 1990. However, the figure for urban population in the same period underwent a gradual rise from 15% to 20% . Looking closely to the graph , the percentage of rural population fell down from 80% in 1990 to 63% at the end of the period. By contrast, there was a growth in the proportion of urban population from 20% to 37%.
