Nowadays, many young Vietnamese people enjoy celebrating festivals like Christmas and Halloween. In my opinion, this trend is positive and reflects the openness of Vietnamese youth to different cultures. Celebrating these festivals allows young people to have fun, express creativity, and connect with friends and family in new ways. It also broadens their understanding of the world and encourages cultural exchange, which is important in today’s globalized society.

However, I understand the concerns some people have about the influence of foreign cultures. It is essential to maintain and respect traditional Vietnamese customs and values, so foreign celebrations should not replace or overshadow local festivals. Instead, they can coexist, enriching the cultural landscape of Vietnam.

By embracing festivals like Christmas and Halloween alongside traditional ones, young people develop a more inclusive and diverse cultural identity. As long as we balance foreign influences with preserving our heritage, celebrating international festivals can bring joy and cultural awareness without threatening Vietnamese culture.
