I think young Vietnamese people celebrating festivals such as Christmas and Halloween is generally a positive development, as long as they do not forget their own cultural traditions.

For example, celebrating Halloween can help them learn about Western history and customs, while Christmas can be a chance to experience different traditions and spend enjoyable time with friends and family. In today’s increasingly globalized society, cultural exchange is a natural part of life.

However, some people are concerned that foreign festivals may gradually weaken traditional Vietnamese culture. This concern is understandable if young people become more interested in foreign celebrations while ignoring important Vietnamese festivals such as Tết and the Mid-Autumn Festival. Nevertheless, I believe that enjoying foreign traditions does not necessarily mean abandoning Vietnamese culture. What matters is maintaining a balance between the two.
