Walt Disney is famous around the world for creating Mickey Mouse and building an iconic entertainment empire. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1901 and grew up in Missouri. He attended McKinley High School, where he took drawing and photography classes, and later studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts. 

Throughout his career, he achieved remarkable success as a film producer, director, and animator who created beloved characters like Donald Duck and Goofy, as well as the world's first full-length animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Apart from making films, he was also famous for pioneering theme parks, opening Disneyland in California in 1955. 

Regarding his family, he had three brothers and one sister, and he later married Lillian Bounds, with whom he had two daughters. 

Walt Disney died in 1966 from lung cancer. However, The Walt Disney Company continued to thrive, expanding globally and remaining a major leader in family entertainment today.
