Save the Elephants (STE) is a non-profit organization founded in 1993 by Iain Douglas-Hamilton. Its main aim is to ensure that elephants do not die out and to protect the habitats where they live. The organization focuses on several important areas. First, it works to stop the illegal hunting of elephants, especially in Africa and Asia. In addition, STE carries out research by collaborating with scientists and experts to better understand elephant behavior. Another key activity is raising public awareness through films, television, and new media, helping people understand the importance of protecting these animals. So far, Save the Elephants has supported 335 projects in 40 countries. Thanks to its efforts, more people are becoming aware of the need to conserve elephants and protect their natural environment.
