Traditionally, the job of a surgeon was mostly done by men because it was considered physically demanding and stressful. However, today more women are becoming successful surgeons. A surgeon’s main responsibility is to perform operations to treat injuries, diseases, or medical problems. They also examine patients, make diagnoses, and work carefully with a medical team before and after surgery. To do this job well, surgeons need important qualities such as patience, strong concentration, steady hands, and the ability to make quick and correct decisions. They must also be responsible and caring because their work directly affects patients’ lives. Both men and women can do this job equally well if they are properly trained and skilled. Having both male and female surgeons benefits society because patients can feel more comfortable and receive better care from a diverse medical workforce.
