in the past, surgeons were usually men, but to day many women are also successful in this job. A surgeon's work is to examine patients, diagnose problems,and perform operations to treat diseases and save lives. This career requires carefulness, concentration, skillful hands, and a strong sense of responsibility. A good surgeon must be able to work under pressure and communicate well with patients. Both men and women can become good surgeons if they receive proper training. When hospitals have both male and female surgeons, patients feel more comfortable and confident. Therefore, gender is not as important as ability and passion for the job.
