In the past, surgery was a career mostly dominated by men because women were rarely encouraged or allowed to pursue higher medical education. Today, this view has changed. Surgeons are responsible for examining patients, identifying medical problems, and performing operations to save lives or improve health. Their work also includes preparing for surgery, working with medical teams, and caring for patients during recovery. This profession requires excellent medical knowledge, careful decision-making, emotional control, and strong physical and mental endurance. Surgeons must be confident and responsible, as they often face stressful and critical situations. Both men and women are fully capable of meeting these demands, since success in surgery depends on training and commitment rather than gender. Having surgeons of both genders is beneficial because it creates diversity in the medical field and helps patients feel more comfortable and understood.
