Should

In my opinion, parents should strictly limit teenagers’ screen time. Nowadays, many teenagers spend too much time in front of screens, which affects both their study and health.

First of all, when teenagers spend too much time watching online videos, checking social media, or playing computer games, they have little time left for homework and other useful activities. This can make their academic performance worse because they cannot concentrate on their studies.

Secondly, too much screen time is harmful to their health. Spending long hours in front of screens can damage their eyesight, reduce sleep time, and even cause weight gain. Teenagers need to spend more time doing outdoor activities to stay healthy and strong.

In conclusion, parents should limit the amount of time their children spend on screens. It helps teenagers focus more on their studies, protect their health, and develop better habits for the future.

Shouldn't

In my opinion, parents shouldn’t strictly limit teenagers’ screen time. What really matters is not how long they use screens, but how they use them.

First of all, the quality of screen time is more important than its quantity. Teenagers can learn a lot of useful knowledge and necessary skills through online educational videos, websites, and games. For example, many students use the internet to study languages, science, or technology, which helps them improve themselves.

Secondly, if parents control screen time too strictly, it may create a gap between teenagers and parents. Teenagers may feel that their parents don’t understand them or are being unfair. This can lead to arguments and make family relationships worse.

In conclusion, instead of limiting screen time too strictly, parents should guide teenagers to use it wisely. That way, screens can become a helpful tool for learning and connection, not just a problem.
