Should Young Vietnamese People Celebrate Foreign Festivals?

In recent years, festivals like Christmas and Halloween have become increasingly popular among Vietnamese youth. Some see this trend as a positive way to enjoy life and connect with the world, while others fear it may weaken traditional culture. Personally, I believe celebrating these festivals is not harmful if we maintain a balance.

First, joining in Christmas or Halloween provides young people with opportunities to have fun, express creativity, and socialize. These events create joyful memories and help them feel connected to global trends. In addition, exposure to foreign festivals encourages cultural openness and understanding, which are valuable in today’s era of international integration.

However, it is important that young people do not neglect Vietnam’s traditional celebrations such as Tet, Mid-Autumn Festival, or Hung Kings’ Commemoration. These events reflect our unique heritage and national identity. By celebrating both foreign and local festivals, youth can enjoy diversity while still respecting their roots.

In conclusion, embracing festivals like Christmas and Halloween can enrich cultural life in Vietnam, as long as traditional values are preserved and passed on.

WALT DISNEY – THE FATHER OF MICKEY MOUSE

Childhood and education

Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. He grew up in Missouri, where he loved to draw and paint. He attended McKinley High School in Chicago and later took night courses at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.

Achievements

He was a very successful film-maker, who created the world-famous character Mickey Mouse and co-founded The Walt Disney Company. He also produced many classic animated films such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty.

Apart from making films, he was also famous for building Disneyland and inspiring the creation of Walt Disney World.

Family

He had four siblings (three brothers and one sister) and two daughters.

Death and continued success

Walt Disney died on December 15, 1966, in Los Angeles. After his death, The Walt Disney Studios continued to grow, producing movies, television shows, and theme parks that remain beloved around the world today.
