Walt Disney is famous around the world for his revolutionary impact on animation, family entertainment, and popular culture. Born in Chicago on December 5, 1901, he developed a deep passion for drawing and photography during his childhood on a farm in Missouri. He later attended McKinley High School in Chicago, where he drew for the school newspaper and took night classes at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.As a highly successful filmmaker, Disney co-created the iconic character Mickey Mouse in 1928 and produced the world's first full-length animated feature, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, in 1937. Apart from making films, he was also famous for pioneering the concept of immersive theme parks, opening Disneyland in California in 1955.Disney grew up in a busy household with three brothers and one sister, and he later raised two daughters with his beloved wife, Lillian. Although he died on December 15, 1966, his creative legacy lives on. Today, The Walt Disney Studios continues to achieve massive success, remaining a global entertainment giant.
