In recent years, an increasing number of young Vietnamese people have embraced festivals such as Christmas and Halloween. While some view this as a cultural threat, I believe that celebrating these global festivals has more positive than negative effects.

Participating in international celebrations allows young people to broaden their cultural understanding. For instance, learning about the story of Saint Nicholas during Christmas or the history of Halloween encourages curiosity and global awareness. These experiences help youth become more open-minded and appreciative of different traditions, which is essential in today’s interconnected world.

Moreover, these festivals offer opportunities for creativity and social interaction. Halloween costumes, Christmas decorations, and themed events provide fun and engaging ways for young people to express themselves and connect with others.

Although there are concerns that foreign festivals may overshadow traditional Vietnamese customs, I believe this can be avoided through education and cultural balance. Encouraging the celebration of both local and global traditions can enrich young people’s cultural identity rather than weaken it.

In conclusion, the influence of foreign festivals should be seen as an opportunity for cultural exchange, not a threat.
