Nowadays, more and more young Vietnamese people celebrate festivals such as Christmas and Halloween. In my opinion, this trend has both positive and negative effects, but overall, I believe it brings more benefits than harm.

On the positive side, celebrating international festivals helps young people learn about different cultures and traditions. This broadens their understanding of the world and encourages cultural exchange, which is important in our globalized society. For example, during Christmas, young people learn about the spirit of giving, which is a valuable lesson. Also, these festivals create opportunities for fun and socializing, helping young people relax and build friendships.

However, some people worry that foreign festivals may negatively influence Vietnamese culture. They fear that traditional customs and values might be forgotten. This concern is understandable, but I think it is possible to enjoy new celebrations without losing our cultural identity. We can celebrate both local and international festivals in balance.

In conclusion, celebrating festivals like Christmas and Halloween can enrich young Vietnamese people’s lives if done thoughtfully. It promotes cultural understanding while allowing us to keep our own traditions alive.
