In recent years, many young Vietnamese people have enjoyed celebrating foreign festivals such as Christmas and Halloween. Some people think this is fun and harmless, while others worry that it might reduce the value of traditional Vietnamese culture.
In my opinion, celebrating these festivals is not a bad thing if we do it wisely. Taking part in events like Christmas or Halloween allows young people to learn about different cultures, enjoy new experiences, and connect with friends in creative ways. These celebrations also make our cities more lively and help promote tourism and business.
However, we should not forget our own traditions, such as Tet, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Hung Kings’ Temple Festival. These special days reflect who we are as Vietnamese and help us understand our history and values.
In conclusion, it is good to enjoy foreign festivals, but young people should also respect and preserve Vietnamese traditions. By doing both, we can become open-minded global citizens while still being proud of our own culture.
