Nowadays, more and more young Vietnamese people celebrate foreign festivals such as Christmas and Halloween, which has become a topic of debate. Personally, I believe that joining these celebrations brings more benefits than drawbacks. Firstly, participating in international festivals gives young people opportunities to learn about different cultures. For example, when celebrating Christmas, they understand more about Western traditions of family reunion and sharing love. Similarly, Halloween allows them to explore creativity through costumes and games, which enriches their social experience. Secondly, these events create moments of joy and connection among friends, families, and communities. In modern life, where stress and pressure are common, such occasions provide relaxation and strengthen relationships. Moreover, embracing foreign festivals does not mean forgetting Vietnamese traditions. Young people still celebrate Tet, Mid-Autumn Festival, and other national holidays with pride. In fact, exposure to other cultures can make them appreciate their own cultural identity even more. In conclusion, celebrating foreign festivals should be seen as a way to expand knowledge and enjoyment, not as a threat to Vietnamese traditions. The key is balance: keeping national culture alive while being open to new experiences.
