In recent years, many young Vietnamese people have become interested in celebrating foreign festivals such as Christmas and Halloween. While some people believe this is a positive trend, others are concerned about its influence on Vietnamese traditions. Personally, I think celebrating these festivals has more benefits than drawbacks.
First of all, taking part in foreign festivals helps young people broaden their knowledge of other cultures. They can learn about the customs, costumes, and values of different countries, which makes them more open-minded and tolerant. Moreover, festivals like Halloween or Christmas create joyful moments and opportunities for social interaction. Young people can enjoy games, parties, and decorations, which make life more colorful and exciting.
Of course, some people worry that foreign festivals may cause young generations to forget traditional ones such as Tet or Mid-Autumn Festival. However, I believe that Vietnamese people are still strongly attached to their own cultural values. The key is to balance between respecting national traditions and embracing global culture.
In conclusion, celebrating foreign festivals should not be seen as a threat but as a chance to connect with the world. As long as we preserve our own traditions, enjoying international celebrations is a meaningful and positive activity.
