Nowadays, many young Vietnamese people celebrate foreign festivals such as Christmas and Halloween. While some people worry that these events may negatively influence traditional culture, I personally believe that celebrating them brings more benefits than drawbacks. Firstly, joining foreign festivals helps young people broaden their horizons and learn about different cultures. By taking part in Halloween activities like wearing costumes or decorating houses for Christmas, they not only enjoy themselves but also gain knowledge of Western traditions. This cultural exchange promotes understanding and tolerance among people in an increasingly globalized world.
Secondly, these festivals create opportunities for entertainment and social connection. For example, friends and families gather to exchange gifts on Christmas or have fun at Halloween parties. Such experiences strengthen relationships and bring joy to daily life. In addition, many businesses take advantage of these occasions to boost sales, which contributes to the economy. Of course, it is also important not to forget our own traditional festivals such as Tet or Mid-Autumn Festival. Young people should balance the celebration of foreign and local events. In this way, they can enjoy the diversity of cultures without losing their national identity.
In conclusion, I believe that celebrating foreign festivals is a positive trend as long as we also preserve and respect Vietnamese traditions.
