In today’s digital age, screens have become an essential part of daily life, especially for teenagers. While technology brings many benefits for learning and communication, excessive screen time can cause serious problems to young people’s mental, physical, and social health. For this reason, I strongly believe that teenagers’ screen time should be limited.


First of all, limiting screen time helps protect teenagers’ mental health. Research shows that spending too much time online increases risks of anxiety, depression, and sleep disorders. Social media, in particular, often creates negative self-comparisons and unrealistic expectations. By reducing time on screens, teenagers can maintain a healthier mindset and avoid unnecessary pressure.


Secondly, physical health is also at risk. When teens sit in front of screens for long hours, they do not move enough, which may lead to obesity, poor posture, and eye strain. Limiting screen time encourages them to exercise more, spend time outdoors, and adopt healthier lifestyles.


Furthermorea, excessive screen use can harm teenagers’ social development. Face-to-face interaction is important for building empathy and strong relationships. Too much online communication may result in difficulties in real-world conversations. By reducing screen time, teens can connect better with family and friends in more meaningful ways.


In conclusion, while screens are useful for education and entertainment, their overuse is harmful. Setting reasonable limits does not mean banning technology; it means guiding teenagers toward a healthier balance. By managing screen time wisely, parents can support their children’s overall well-being and help them grow into healthier, happier individuals.
