Hô hấp ở thực vật được phân chia làm 2 hình thức, đó là phân giải kị khí và phân giải hiếu khí.

A. Phân giải kị khí

- Phân giải kị khí ở thực vật có thể xảy ra khi rễ cây bị ngập úng hoặc khi hạt ngâm trong nước hoặc cây thiếu ôxi.

- Phân giải kị khí bao gồm 2 giai đoạn, đó là đường phân và lên men. Trong đó, đường phân xảy ra ở tế bào chất và có bản chất là quá trình phân giải glucôzơ thành axit piruvic (mỗi phân tử glucôzơ qua đường phân tạo 2 axit piruvic, 2 ATP). Axit piruvic trải qua quá trình lên men sẽ tạo ra rượu êtilic kèm  hoặc axit lactic.

B. Phân giải hiếu khí:

- Phân giải hiếu khí bao gồm 2 giai đoạn, đó là đường phân và hô hấp hiếu khí.

- Hô hấp hiếu khí gồm hai giai đoạn, đó là chu trình Crep và chuỗi chuyền êlectron trong hô hấp.

- Chu trình Crep diễn ra ở chất nền của ti thể và sử dụng nguồn nguyên liệu là axit piruvic (sản phẩm của đường phân), ôxi (lấy từ môi trường ngoài) và tại đây, nhờ một loạt các phản ứng chuyển hóa mà axit piruvic được ôxi hóa hoàn toàn.

- Chuỗi chuyền êlectron diễn ra ở màng trong của ti thể. Tại đây, hiđrô được tách ra từ axit piruvic trong chu trình Crep sẽ được chuyển tiếp qua chuỗi chuyền êlectron. Kết quả là từ 2 phân tử axit piruvic được tạo ra qua đường phân, qua hô hấp hiếu khí sẽ giải phóng 6 , 6  và tích lũy được 36 ATP.

a) Hàm số y = f(x) = x4 - 3x2 + 1 có tập xác định D là R, do đó ∀ x ∈ D thì -x ∈ D, hơn nữa f(-x) = (-x)4 - 3(-x)2 + 1 = x4 - 3x2 + 1 = f(x), nên y = f(x) là hàm số chẵn.

b) Hàm số y = g(x) = -2x3 + x có tập xác định D là R, do đó ∀ x ∈ D thì -x ∈ D, hơn nữa g(-x) = -2(-x)3 + (-x) = 2x3 - x = -g(x), nên y = g(x) là hàm số lẻ.

c) Hàm số y = h(x) =|x + 2|- |x - 2 | có tập xác định D là R, do đó ∀ x ∈ D thì –x ∈ D, hơn nữa h(-x) = | -x + 2| -|-x – 2|= |x - 2| - |x + 2|= -(|x + 2| - |x - 2 |) = -h{x)

Vì vậy y = h(x) là hàm số lẻ.

d) Chứng minh tương tự ta có y = |2x + 1| + |2x — 1| là hàm số chẵn.
