English is my favorite subject and also the one that I am good at, so many of my friends had asked me about the way to learn it properly. There is no compulsory method to study English, but each person has to find the suitable one in order to study it efficiently. I had discovered some of my own secret to learn it, and I had a big improvement since then. One of my hobbies is reading, and I choose English books to read in order to improve both my vocabulary and grammar. I read about the history, culture of England and the United States, novels of famous authors, and English news, all of them help me to gain a lot of new words as well as general knowledge. Besides, I never lose my interest in learning English because I know how to combine studying and entertaining. Instead of learning by hearts all the new words in boredom, I listen to English songs, watch English movies and try to translate the lyrics as well as the subtitle. By doing that, I know more about the different and the same things between English and Vietnamese, and it helps me to use English properly in each certain situation. I also connect with some international friends, and they are the best teacher to teach me about English. I can learn some slang, idioms, and things that normal teachers do not teach their students. Besides, my confidence in speaking English also increases since I spend time to talk on the phone with them. I feel that I have made more positive changes since I had my very own ways to learn English, and that is the reason why I think each of us should be creative in learning it.

Learning a new language is always a challenge for anyone, but learning English can become a harmonious combination of researching and entertainment if we are flexible. Besides stressful studying hours, we can still learn English even when we are entertaining. Learners can turn their hobbies such as reading, watching movies or listening to music into a powerful assistant in learning this language. While watching English movies, we can also listen to what the actors and actresses say in order to get familiar with the Western accent also as the way they use the sentence structure in a particular context. Next, we can learn more vocabulary and have a thorough understanding of grammar by reading English lyrics and books. On weekends, instead of playing games or hanging out with friends, we can spend some of our spare time to join the English clubs. These clubs provide an open English-communicating environment, enabling us to communicate confidently and recognize our mistakes. This can help us to be more interested in learning English, and talking to native speakers can encourage us to learn more about this language. In general, English is not too difficult for us to learn; however, we should know how to learn it properly in order to make the best use of it.
