William Shakespeare (1564_1616) was an English poet and playwright , widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's outstanding dramatist . He is often called England's national poet. His surviving works consist of 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long story-telling poems, and several other poems. His plays have been translated into very major living language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.

Shakespeare was born and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon. At the age of 18 , he married Anne Hathaway, who bore him three children: Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. Between 1585 and 1592 , he began a successful career in London as an actor , writer, and part owner of a playing company called the Lord Chamberlain's Men, later known as the King's Men. The American family unit is in the process of change. In the first half of the 20th century, there were mainly two types of families: the extended and the nuclear. The Role of the Japanese Mother

The focus of the mother is her home and family, with particular attention to the rearing of children. While most Japanese believe that a woman's place is in the home, women make up almost 40 percent of the labor force. More than half of these women are married. Many mothers with small children work only part-time so they can be home when their children are not in school. The extra income earned by the mother is often used to meet the cost of their children's education.

Japanese mothers take the responsibility of their child's education and upbringing very seriously. Walt Whitman, born in New York in 1819, was one of American’s unusual literary figures. As an individualist, he rambled through the countryside seeing people and places, and making them his own.
