Từ xưa, ca dao đã có câu:
Muốn sang thì bắc cầu kiều
Muốn con hay chữ thì yêu lấy thầy.
Được coi trọng như vậy bởi người thầy luôn tượng trưng cho những gì chuẩn mực, đạo lý và người thầy còn có sứ mệnh cao quý là truyền đạo lý cho mọi người, nhất là cho các thế hệ học trò của mình, giúp họ trở nên người có học vấn, có nhân cách tốt đẹp, có năng lực giúp ích cho đời, cho dân, cho nước.
Bác Hồ đã từng nói: “Người thầy giáo tốt – thầy giáo xứng đáng là thầy giáo – là người vẻ vang nhất. Dù là tên tuổi không đăng trên báo, không được thưởng huân chương, song những người thầy giáo tốt là những anh hùng vô danh. Đây là một điều rất vẻ vang”.
Nhà giáo được vinh danh là “Kỹ sư tâm hồn”, nghề dạy học được vinh danh là “Nghề cao quý nhất trong các nghề cao quý”. Ngày nay, có biết bao nhà giáo nhân dân, nhà giáo ưu tú và hàng triệu giáo viên khác – những người đang mang tâm huyết, trí tuệ, không quản khó khăn, gian khổ, cống hiến cho sự nghiệp “trồng người”. Những người thầy ấy luôn được coi trọng. Tôn vinh người thầy đã trở thành đạo lý, thành tình cảm tự nhiên của mỗi người chúng ta.
Mỗi năm, khi sắp đến ngày 20-11 lòng chúng tôi lại dâng lên những cảm xúc khó tả, những mong nhớ, nuối tiếc về thời đi học đã qua, những kỷ niệm về thầy cô và những người bạn học đã mãi mãi đi xa để giữ lấy bình yên cho Tổ Quốc. Ngày 20-11 là ngày ân tình, thầy cô giáo chúng tôi đón nhận tình cảm của toàn xã hội, tình cảm chân thành của học trò làm chúng tôi thật sự xúc động, thấy ấm lòng hơn khi nhìn những ánh mắt trong sáng, những câu nói, nụ cười thân thương, sự quan tâm lo lắng của các em làm chúng tôi quên đi bao mệt mỏi của bộn bề công việc, những lo toan trong cuộc sống hàng ngày.
Ngày nay, chúng ta đang sống, làm việc trong những điều kiện thuận lợi hơn trước, song cũng rất nhiều thách thức đang đặt ra cho các nhà giáo như: vấn đề đổi mới căn bản nền giáo dục đại học Việt Nam, nâng cao chất lượng đào tạo nguồn nhân lực trong hội nhập, đào tạo theo nhu cầu xã hội... Hơn ai hết, với vai trò là người thầy “Thay Đảng rèn người”, chúng tôi ý thức được trách nhiệm của mình phải bồi dưỡng tri thức, làm chủ công nghệ, khắc phục những khó khăn bằng sức lực, trí tuệ và lòng yêu nghề. Điều đó đòi hỏi mỗi nhà giáo phải có bản lĩnh, vừa giữ được phẩm chất tốt đẹp của nghề nghiệp cao quý vừa đáp ứng được nhu cầu ngày càng cao về tri thức, về kiến thức chuyên môn, về nghiệp vụ sư phạm sao cho phù hợp.
Những thành tựu mà trường Đại học Hà Tĩnh đã đạt được, cho đến nay đã ghi đậm dấu ấn, công lao của bao nhà giáo. Trường của chúng ta đã và đang phát triển mạnh mẽ, cơ sở vật chất ngày càng khang trang, đội ngũ gần 300 cán bộ, giảng viên, và hơn 9.000 HSSV của cả trường với tâm huyết, năng lực, ý thức trách nhiệm và tinh thần nỗ lực đang là chủ thể, là lực lượng to lớn tạo ra sự chuyển biến phát triển của nền giáo dục nước nhà.
Mỗi ngày đi qua, trên gương mặt của mỗi thầy cô, hằn sâu bao nhọc nhằn, bao vất vả của đời thường, nhưng chỉ có ánh mắt vẫn sáng lên một niềm tin, một tình yêu đối với nghề vô bờ bến. Chúng tôi là những cán bộ, giảng viên của trường Đại học Hà Tĩnh, xin hứa sẽ tiếp tục thắp sáng niềm tin ấy, thắp sáng lý tưởng cao quý mà các thế hệ thầy cô đã giữ gìn; sẽ tiếp tục kế thừa và phát huy những thành quả đã đạt được, nỗ lực vượt khó, sáng tạo để hoàn thành tốt nhiệm vụ mà Đảng, Nhà nước và nhân dân giao phó, góp sức đào tạo thế hệ trẻ có phẩm chất, có năng lực, có khát vọng để tiếp bước cha anh dựng xây đất nước Việt Nam ngày càng giàu mạnh.
Nhân ngày 20/11, xin trân trọng gửi tới các thầy, cô giáo, những lời chúc tốt đẹp, những bó hoa tươi thắm nhất! Hướng về các thầy, các cô với tấm lòng thành kính, những học trò hôm qua và những học trò hôm nay đã, đang và sẽ luôn khắc ghi trong lòng đạo lý: Uống nước nhớ nguồn, tôn sư trọng đạo.
