Để làm tốt bài phát âm và loại từ trong các bài kiểm tra tiếng Anh, bạn có thể áp dụng các mẹo sau:

• Âm "s" và "es" ở cuối từ:

  • /s/: sau các âm vô thanh (p, k, t, f).
  • /z/: sau các âm hữu thanh (b, d, g, v, m, n).
  • /ɪz/: sau các âm xuýt (s, z, ʃ, ʒ, tʃ, dʒ).

• Quy tắc phát âm -ed:

  • /t/: sau âm vô thanh (k, p, s, sh, ch, f).
  • /d/: sau âm hữu thanh (b, g, v, l, m, n, r).
  • /ɪd/: sau "t" hoặc "d".

• Phát âm nguyên âm:

  • Nguyên âm dài (long vowels): /iː/, /uː/, /ɑː/...

• Một số từ không tuân theo quy tắc, bạn nên học thuộc:
  • "Tough" (phát âm là /tʌf/), "though" (phát âm là /ðəʊ/).
  • "Chaos" (phát âm là /ˈkeɪ.ɒs/), không phải /ʧ/ như nhiều người nhầm.

• Khi gặp các từ khác biệt, tìm điểm khác nhau về cách phát âm nguyên âm hoặc phụ âm.
• Ví dụ: live /lɪv/ và leave /liːv/ khác ở độ dài âm.

• Sử dụng từ điển trực tuyến như Cambridge hoặc Oxford để nghe cách phát âm chuẩn của từ.

• Luyện các bài phát âm có đáp án để quen với dạng bài.
• Trang web hoặc app như Quizlet, Duolingo, Elsa Speak rất hữu ích.
