- Trong câu (1): Từ “ thầy” đứng trước trợ từ “thì” có chức năng làm chủ ngữ của câu.

- Trong câu (2): Từ “ thầy” đứng trước trợ từ “thì” có chức năng làm khởi ngữ của câu.

Giải thích:

- Trong câu (1): Chủ ngữ của câu là “thầy”, vị ngữ của câu là “không bênh vực những em lười học”. Từ “thì” trong câu này có tác dụng nối hai vế câu, bổ sung ý nghĩa cho vế thứ nhất.
