Nhà em ở cạnh cánh đồng lúa, mỗi sáng mai thức dậy em đều thấy cánh đồng lúa đang vươn mình đón lấy những tia nắng đầu tiên của ngày mới. Cánh đồng lúa ở quê em rộng mênh mông, trải dài đến khắp nơi.

Mẹ em bảo ngày xưa bố chọn mảnh đất sát cánh đồng lúa vì có không khí trong lành, tốt cho sức khỏe, làm mùa thì cũng thuận tiện cho việc đi lại, cày cuốc. Cánh đồng lúa quê em khi lúa đang thì con gái thì có màu xanh mượt mà, óng ả. Một màu xanh khi có mặt trời chiếu vào thật đẹp. Lúc đồng lúa đã bắt đầu trổ bông, từng hạt nặng kéo cong cả thân lúa. Khi lúa bắt đầu ngả màu vàng, chín đều thì trông cánh đồng lúa tựa như một bức tranh được dát vàng, đẹp đến lạ kỳ.

Khung cảnh tấp nập khi mọi người thu hoạch lúa thật vui tươi, phấn khởi, ai ai cũng hào hứng vì lúa năm nay được mùa.

   Ở giữa cánh đồng lúa có một con đường lớn để dẫn ra đường quốc lộ, vì vậy ở đây luôn tấp nập người qua lại. Cánh đồng lúa sáng mai và lúc chiều tà hoàn toàn khác nhau. Buổi sáng, lúa như uống cạn từng giọt sương cuối cùng còn đọng lại trên lá. Vươn lên thật tươi tốt, ngọt lành. Còn khi về chiều, lúa nhẹ nhàng, khẽ khàng lay động theo từng tiếng gió. Nắng chiều vương trên những thân cây lúa tạo nên màu sắc riêng biệt.

   Trên cánh đồng lúa, thi thoảng từng chú châu chấu, cào cào thi nhau xem ai nhảy nhanh và xa hơn ai. Xa xa thấp thoáng những đàn trâu thung thăng gặm cỏ, chốc chốc lại ngẩng đầu lên lắng nghe tiếng sáo diều bay trên cao. Đám trẻ con chúng em nằm dài trên vạt cỏ mềm, ngửa mặt lên trời và nhìn từng chú chim đang chao liệng.

   Cánh đồng lúa gắn với tuổi thơ của em, gắn với những buổi trưa hè đám con nít kéo nhau ra đồng hái lúa nếp về rang lên và ăn ngon lành. Nhớ những chiều cưỡi trên lưng trâu, ngắm mặt trời lặn.
