I would love to visit the Hoan Kiem Lake which is a landmark in Hanoi. I spending whole my summer time there to play , hang out , volunteering ,.... My friend and I tried to play football there but scolded by the police ( of course =)) . Hoan Kiem Lake is a relic that has seen many ups and downs in the history of Hanoi. As one of the symbols of the capital, it makes me feel at peace every time I come here.

Vietnam has a lot of historical places such as: Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam, Hue Imperial City, Thien Mu Pagoda, President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum,....And I like to visit Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam because it is the first university of Vietnam, an example of traditional Vietnamese architecture. In here, we can see many stelae was carried on the backs of giant tortoises.

I would use the above to ask for someone's advice on which they preferred of three or more choices, where the 'ranking' might go from least preferred to best. (this one, not at all, these two are ok, this one is very nice, but this one I like best.) In other words, good < better < best.

There are differences and similarities between Vietnamese and American cultures.

In America, two generations live in a home. In Vietnam, two, three or even four generations live under one roof. In America, old-aged parents live in nursing homes but in Vietnam they live with their children.

It is not polite to ask American about age, marriage and income. However, it is normal in Vietnam. Americans can greet anyone in the family first but in Vietnam, that's wrong. As a rule, all members have to greet the oldest one first.

Americans buy groceries once a week and keep them in a refrigerator. In Vietnam, inspite of having refrigerator, they still buy groceries every day. Maybe, they want fresh food, they consider that it is better for their health.

For American, Christmas and New Year holidays are the most important. But for Vietnamese, only New Year. One another feature, American children sleep in their own bedrooms, Vietnamese ones sleep with their parents so that they are cared well.

I would like to do paddleboarding. I think it’s very excited.

I am glad to hear that you planned an expedition to my place and finally we are going to spend some time together. In your letter, you have asked a few questions and I am going to answer them.
The best time suited for visiting my town is autumn because it’s neither too hot nor too cold during that time. Therefore, you don’t need to carry heavy winter clothes. Moreover, the falling of the leaves from trees makes the town more fascinating.
If I talk about the interesting places, there are many but here I would to mention a few that are the most popular. The first is the Jagatjit Palace which was a residence of Maharaja of Kapurthala. The specialty of this place is its remarkable architecture and this place is now transformed into a school to train boys for the National Defence Academy. The other one is Panch Mandir, one of the ancient temple that is dedicated to several Hindu deities.
There are various hotels in the heart of the city where you will get a room at a reasonable price. However, I would suggest comparing the prices as well as a rating from trivago.com so that you could get a room at an affordable price otherwise you are most welcome at my place as well.
