Ecotourism is becoming increasingly popular, especially among young people who are concerned about environmental issues. However, not all “eco” trips are as responsible as they claim to be. To choose a truly sustainable ecotourism experience, (1) __________.

First, it is important to research the company that organises the trip. A responsible operator should clearly explain (2) __________. For instance, it may limit the number of visitors, reduce waste, or avoid activities that disturb wildlife. If a company mainly focuses on entertainment and profit without mentioning conservation, it is likely not genuinely eco-friendly.

Second, consider how the trip benefits local people. Responsible ecotourism should create positive impacts by providing jobs, supporting local businesses, or preserving cultural traditions. Choosing tours that employ local guides or use locally made products (3) __________.

Another key factor is how wildlife is treated. Tourists should avoid experiences (4) __________, such as feeding or taking photos in unnatural settings. Ethical tours respect animals by observing them from a safe distance and protecting their natural habitats.

Finally, (5) __________. Even on a well-organised trip, individuals should act responsibly by reducing waste, saving energy, and respecting local customs. Simple actions, such as carrying reusable items, can have a meaningful impact.

By making informed choices, you can enjoy travel experiences that are both enjoyable and environmentally responsible.

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools have become increasingly popular in schools. Many students now use AI programmes to assist them with their homework, particularly when writing essays. These tools can answer difficult questions and generate detailed texts in seconds. For busy learners, this seems like a perfect method to save time, reduce stress, and achieve good marks.

2. However, relying heavily on AI for schoolwork introduces significant problems. Although it is tempting to simply copy answers from a digital tool, doing so means students are not genuinely learning. Writing an essay is not just about completing a task quickly; it is about learning how to think critically and share personal opinions. While AI can rapidly produce a well-written text, it cannot teach students how to organise their own ideas. If young learners constantly depend on these programmes, they might lose their independent thinking skills.

3. Because of this shift, the traditional role of the teacher is changing. In the past, teachers spent much time reading and evaluating finished essays at home. Now, they need to focus much more on the actual learning process. For example, educators might ask students to write their first drafts in the classroom without computers. They can also speak to students directly to check whether they truly understand the topics they wrote about.

4. Instead of restricting AI in schools, teachers can show students how to use it responsibly. AI can be a wonderful helper for brainstorming new ideas or checking basic grammar. However, the final work must always come from the student's own mind. In the future, teachers will not just be people who give marks; they will be guides who help students think in a digital world.

Câu 1:

To improve reading speed.
To save their time.
To achieve good marks.

AI cannot help students organise their own ideas because it produces high-quality texts much too fast.
AI can generate high-quality texts very quickly, yet it fails to teach students to arrange their own ideas.
Unless AI can produce a well-written text quickly, it cannot teach students how to organise their own ideas.

1. Antarctica is a beautiful but freezing place at the bottom of the world. It is covered in thick ice and heavy snow. Many animals live there, but the most famous are the penguins. These birds cannot fly, but they are excellent swimmers. They love diving into the deep ocean to catch food. For thousands of years, penguins have lived happily in this cold environment. However, their home is now changing quickly because the Earth is getting warmer.

2. As global temperatures rise, the ice in Antarctica is melting. This creates a big problem for the penguins' food supply. Penguins mostly eat tiny sea creatures called krill. Krill are very important to the ocean. They live under the sea ice and eat the plants that grow on it. When the sea ice melts early in the year, the krill lose their homes and food source. With fewer krill in the ocean, adult penguins have to swim much further to find meals. Consequently, they bring back less food for their hungry chicks.

3. The melting ice also ruins the places where penguins build their nests. [I] Emperor penguins, for example, need solid sea ice to lay their eggs and keep their babies safe. [II] If the ice breaks up too soon before the chicks grow their waterproof feathers, the young birds can fall into the freezing water. Sadly, many small chicks cannot survive this terrible cold. [III] Furthermore, sudden rainstorms, which are happening more often due to climate change, can easily make the chicks wet and freeze them when the icy wind blows. [IV]

4. Scientists are studying these birds to understand how we can help them. They use satellites and cameras to watch penguin colonies from far away. Some organisations are also trying to create special protected zones in the ocean where fishing activities are strictly prohibited. Protecting these amazing animals will require people all over the world to work together. By using less energy and stopping pollution, we might slow down the melting ice. If we act now, we can make sure that penguins will always have a safe home in Antarctica.

Câu 1:

According to paragraph 1, __________.

penguins have recently moved to Antarctica due to a warmer climate
penguins usually find their food on the surface of the ocean
penguins have always struggled to live in thick ice and heavy snow
penguins are famous birds in Antarctica that swim very well
Câu 2:

The word they in paragraph 2 refers to __________.

plants
meals
krill
penguins
Câu 3:

Which of the following best summarises paragraph 2?

As melting ice reduces krill numbers, adult penguins must swim much further and compete with other animals for daily meals.
Adult penguins swimming much further to find meals is causing a rapid decline in krill populations under the melting ice.
Warmer temperatures are reducing krill numbers, making it harder for penguins to find enough food to feed their young.
The early melting of Antarctic sea ice is destroying the natural homes and food sources of tiny creatures such as krill.
Câu 4:

Which of the following is NOT mentioned in paragraph 3 as a danger to penguin chicks?

Young penguins falling into the extremely cold ocean water too early.
Unexpected rain making the small birds very wet and freezing cold.
The sea ice breaking before the chicks grow feathers to stay dry.
Heavy snowstorms completely burying emperor penguins' homes.
Câu 5:

The word solid in paragraph 3 mostly means __________.

large
firm
cold
heavy
Câu 6:

The word prohibited in paragraph 4 is OPPOSITE in meaning to __________.

Câu 7:

Which of the following best paraphrases the underlined sentence in paragraph 4?

Ice melting can be stopped completely with better control over energy use and ocean pollution.
Reducing energy use and preventing pollution could help decrease the rate of ice melting.
If we reduce energy use and slow down the melting ice, we will be able to control pollution.
In order to delay the melting of ice, we should stop polluting the ocean by using less energy.
Câu 8:

Which of the following can be inferred from the passage?

Frequent unexpected rainstorms cause the solid sea ice to break up earlier than it normally would.
The establishment of protected ocean zones is intended to help krill populations recover from overfishing.
Adult penguins usually change their daily diet to other sea creatures when krill become scarce.
Climate change negatively affects both the food supply and the living environment of wild penguins.
Câu 9:

Where in the passage does the following sentence best fit?

This makes a stable ice platform absolutely essential for their reproduction.

[I]
[II]
[IV]
[III]
Câu 10:

Which of the following best summarises the passage?

Global warming threatens penguins by destroying their food and habitats, prompting vital conservation efforts worldwide.
Warmer temperatures are rapidly melting Antarctic sea ice, severely damaging both penguin habitats and krill populations.
Climate change threatens sea creatures such as penguins and krill, requiring urgent action to protect Antarctica's ecosystem.
Protecting penguins from climate change requires stopping ocean pollution to prevent unexpected weather patterns in Antarctica.
